Hey, I’m Tyler.
I’m the guy behind Counted Wealth, and I write everything you see on the site.
I’ve been writing about business and finance for years, mostly because I genuinely enjoy the subject. I like seeing how companies make money, why certain ideas take off, how markets react, and what happens when a good-looking plan runs into real life.
I’ve also always been the person who wants to know what sits behind the number.
If a company says sales are up, I want to know what happened to profit. If someone says an investment returned 15%, I want to know how much risk came with it. If a loan looks cheap, I want to know what it costs once everything is added up.
That curiosity is a big part of why Counted Wealth exists.
Why I Started Counted Wealth
There is a lot of finance content online, and plenty of it makes money sound more dramatic than it needs to be.
Everything is urgent. Every market move is huge. Every new business idea is either going to change the world or disappear by next Tuesday.
I wanted to do something a little calmer.
Counted Wealth is where I write about money, business, investing, markets, and economics in a way that makes sense to normal people. I care about the details, but I don’t think every article needs to read like an economics textbook.
If something is simple, I’ll keep it simple. If it needs more explanation, I’ll give it the space.
And if the numbers don’t support the story, I’m probably going to point that out.
A Bit More About Me
Outside of work, I spend a fair amount of time running, reading, following baseball, and drinking more coffee than I probably need.
I’m also one of those people who keeps far too many browser tabs open because I’m convinced I’ll get back to all of them eventually.
I won’t.
I keep spreadsheets for things that definitely do not need spreadsheets, compare purchases longer than necessary, and can easily lose an hour reading about how some completely ordinary business makes its money.
That probably tells you most of what you need to know.
Counted Wealth is where I get to put all of that curiosity into something useful.
